Labor Weekend brings lots of tastings!

Welcome to Cork’s Labor Day newsletter.

Where the heck did the summer go to? Wow…there is so much stuff going on I don’t know where to begin. We have 4 tastings in the next 3 days…the Sox are looking to put the nail in the Yankees coffin this afternoon in their last ever visit to Yankee Stadium…the start of the Deutsche Bank PGA Tournament in Norton… the Pats finishing up their preseason with the Giants tonight (didn’t we just play them a few months ago…I can’t remember)…and Jimmy Buffet next week with his annual wrap up the summer concerts.

OK…so let’s start with the tastings. Tonight (Thursday) from 4:30 to 7:30 we have Vinny or 1 of his harem of Bud Girls with a preview for the Jimmy Buffet concert with a sampling of Landshark Lager and Margaritaville Tequila. You can taste the RTD margarita flavors featuring Classic Lime, Passion Fruit, and Last Mango as well as the Gold Tequila. So get your crazy Hawaiian shirts, Parrotheads and shark fins out early and come stock up and save 10% on these pre-concert necessities.

Friday night from 4 to 7 we have a wine tasting sponsored by 1 of our suppliers. They will have 1 of their “wine specialists” (supermodel) here to sample you on 2 new wines here at Cork’s. 337 Cabernet is a delicious reasonably priced Cab that comes in a cool package. Next is Gnarly Head Old Vine Zinfandel. This is a yummy rich Zinfandel and a great value at $10.99. Of course as with all our tasting you will receive a 10% discount on all wines tasted that night. This is a supplier sponsored tasting so we are just supposed to do those 2 wines but I’m thinking we try to sneak in a good white wine as well…shhhhh…but we won’t tell the supermodel.

Saturday from 1 to 3 we have a Redhook Beer tasting and putting challenge to win a Redhook Adirondack Chair. We will taste Longhammer IPA, Blonde Ale, ESB, and Widmer Hefeweizen. As part of the PGA weekend we will have a putting challenge for you to participate in. If you sink the putt you will be registered for the cool Redhook chair. We will drawer 1 name from all the entries at the end of the tasting and you do not have to be present to win.

Staying with the golf theme we will have a Bonterra Wine tasting on Saturday from 3:30 to 6:30. We will have Bonterra Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel to sample. Bonterra wines are made from 100 % organically grown grapes and they are official sponsors of the PGA tour. If you buy 2 bottles of any Bonterra wine you will receive an earth friendly 6-bottle cloth wine bag. These bags are really cool and like the ones you see at Shaw’s and Stop & Shop are the way to go and 1 more thing you can do for the environment and hopefully make Wallace happy enough to come back to Cork’s and help put up all these freaking cases we got in today!

The weather forecast sounds like it’s going to be fantastic so stop by, sample some wine and beer and stock up for the last official weekend of the Summer.

Robert
